Whether you come to dive the beautiful coral reefs of Bonaire’s National Marine Park, windsurf
on the astonishing blue waters of Lac Cai, hike Washington Slagbaai park, get a hang on
kitesurfing, kayaking through the mangroves, or just want to enjoy the laidback Caribbean
atmosphere .. Bonaire has it all !
Bonaire is famous for it’s shorediving and snorkeling. You can dive nearly every dive site you
like, whenever you like (except the areas that are closed for conservation). Access to the
beautiful reefs is typically easy, especially at the marked divesites. Be careful with snorkeling the
shallows because it will grow into an addiction fast.
Aside from the gorgeous underwater world there are many activities possible on the water as
well. The steady trade-winds offer excellent windsurfing and/or kitesurfing for both beginner and
experienced surfers. Exploring the protected mangroves by kayak will show the island from a
different perspective, and during a boat trip to/around Kleine Bonaire you might run into some
dolphins or juvenile turtles.
Washington Slagbaai National Park offers an unique view on Bonaire’s well preserved natural
ecosystem. Drive, hike or bike the park, climb the Brandaris or visit the ancient caves !
